History

Nine22 Apparel is not a random name plucked out of a hat by drunk magician at a circus. The name Nine22 was created from a situation that truly represents what we are all about.

A few years ago a group of best friends from Australia moved to a house in Fernie for the northern hemisphere winter. The house number was 922. Part of one of the walls in the house was a blackboard instead of paint, and it was there that 922 was conceived. Having an incredible season, built on huge snowfalls, amazing terrain, and a few best mates living the dream together, we started writing Nine22 all over the blackboard. It represented our house, and the epic season we were having. We decided towards the end of the season that if by some chance one of us starts up a company some day, it should be called Nine22, and thus, in January 2010, Nine22 Apparel was born!!

Ideology

Nine22 Apparel is about having fun, being stoked, and appreciating the wonderful things we get to do, and the wonderful community we are a part of. The world of freeskiing has come along way in the last 15 years or so, and it has grown to be a tight knit community of people who love what they do, who love watching where the sport is going, and who are thoroughly committed to the progression and expansion of skiing. This is what Nine22 represents.

We are striving to not only provide you with the best possible garments to shred in, but also to showcase the unbelievable skills of our team. Nine22 Apparel is a rider founded, rider owned, and rider driven company, with a specific approach to the industry. We are devoted to the promotion of our team. We fully believe that if we can continue putting our riders in the spotlight, they will get the recognition they deserve, and Nine22 will simply be there for the ride. We know our riders are destined for big things, and Nine22 Apparel exists to foster their talent and ensure that. We will be bringing you copious amounts of edits, video blogs, news posts, and trip reports, following our incredible team as they take on everything from winter to summer!

We know our products will be the best possible garments for shredding, because our riders are in full control of everything, from styles to sizing. Nine22 does not operate a normal sponsor/rider program, much the opposite. Riders are an integral part of Nine22, and have all been linked together, and linked with our designers and media team. Our entire team are always in contact with each other. Over time we hope to create a group of people who not only ride for the same company, but enjoy hanging out and partying together, who enjoy shredding together, who can work together to produce the best possible shredding garments, and who can travel around the world knowing that they have homies to take them in when the arrive!!
